TASTING NOTES:

Aromatically pure and harmonious, LEGENDE opens with red fruits (cherry), subtle spicy notes of cardamom and vanilla, complemented by hints of liquorice and cocoa bean. The palate is elegant and fresh, supported by a fine tannic structure, great aromatic depth, and dynamic tension.

FOOD PAIRINGS :

Ideal with lamb tagine and onion marmalade, or hearty beef stews.

TERROIR AND VINE MANAGEMENT:

The Cabirou parcel is located in the northern section of the MAS AMIEL estate. This exceptional plot looking southeast was the birthplace of the estate's first dry Maury, thanks to its unique terroir: highly decomposed calcareous schist resting above a gravelly clay layer, just above bedrock. The plot is farmed 100% biodynamically. The soil is tilled by horses – Rambo and Vagabond. The yield is limited to 20 hl/ha.

GRAPE VARIETIES:

The Cabirou plot is special because two different grape varieties are co-planted together, thereby combining a high percentage of Grenache Noir (80%) with Carignan (20%). These old bush vines were planted in 1949.

HARVEST:

Manual harvest. Bunches are sorted twice on a belt and vibrating table before destemming.

WINEMAKING:

Vinified in 50-hl stainless steel vats.

MATURATION AND BOTTLING:

Aged in concrete vats before bottling.

10 to 15 years old
